Basics first, then the comforts you earn.
Built by someone who's slept on worse.
I spent eight years as an infantryman, earned my Expert Infantryman Badge, and deployed to Europe and the Middle East. Ruck & Rest is a small shop out of Austin, Texas, built on what that taught me: get the basics right, carry what earns its weight, and enjoy the comforts when you've got them. I slept in the dirt so you don't have to. A real person answers every email, and that person is me.
Questions
How does the Ruck Planner work?
Pick camping or hiking and how many days you're out. The planner lists the necessities first, then optional comforts, plus what to bring that we don't carry. Check off anything you already own and it comes off the bill. Send the rest to Build Your Ruck to stack the savings, or print the checklist.
How fast does it ship?
Shipping is free. Most gear ships from US warehouses and arrives in 3–7 business days after it ships. The Ruck 45L, sleeping pad, pocket stove, Ruck Kit, Chow Kit, Hunter's Kit, The Pineapple, Camp Cloak and trekking pole ship separately from our overseas partner and usually arrive in 7–12 days. You'll get tracking by email for each package.
How much weight do they hold?
The Recliner holds up to 220 lb, the Rocker up to 225 lb, and the Hammock up to 440 lb.
Any assembly?
No tools. The chairs unfold and lock, and the hammock hangs with the included ropes and carabiners.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email us a photo within 14 days of delivery and we'll send a replacement or refund you. Shipping and returns
