Field tips
- Take a bearing at home first and walk it in the yard. Land nav is a perishable skill.
- Use the D-clips to keep gloves, keys and small bags on the ruck.
- Write your route and return time in the notepad and leave it with someone.
Questions
Can the clips hold body weight?
No. They're accessory clips for gear, not climbing.
Does the compass replace a GPS?
Not in unfamiliar terrain. Carry a map and know how to use both.
